Take-aways:

♕ His previous self has clearly lost his mind. The entirety of the conversation is him conversing with a doll and becoming distraught when she does not answer him.

♕ Furthermore, his previous self was somewhat aware of his degradation given that he mentions it in the context of compromise. His disdain for society and his desire to not be worn out by simply integrating with the expectations of others and losing his individuality to just become another cog in the machine was literally stated in conversation. Considering this, Shu will be less likely to go along with the flow than he already was especially in matters that go against his personal aesthetics.
