Kagehira Mika - sensitIV : put all of Shu's boyfriends (except Nazuna) on sensitIV!! Also Mika's got canonical quotes on cute and scary things being exactly the same, they both get your heart pumping!! He also would be confused about the at least part of power-set being useful since he doesn't feel pain and I think that'd be fun. He's also friendly, paranoid, anxious, and decided fuck being a human he's going to be a doll because humans do awful things why would he want to be one of those. Seems just right for sensitIV.

Tomoe Hiyori - pep!pep! : SHITTY SECOND ZAIBATSU SON DOES THINGS TO MAKE PEOPLE HATE HIM ON PURPOSE, HAH HIS PLANNED WORKED NOW YOU HATE HIM excuse him he needs to go cry on his unitmate now. Compulsively cheery, hates gloomy things! A goddamn menace. Don't give Hiyori that powerset, he'll make other people do his chores or if they don't want to cook give them like a recharge OKAY NOW THERE'S NO PROBLEM. cheerfully offers to uh, bash Jun's head in with a trophy for sassing him. Madara Mikejima - BAD END=DEAD END : Son of an officer dad and a yakuza mom, Madara is here to party and also maybe level the city in vengeance to those that ruined his friends in the war, you know how it goes. A friendly guy who definitely is going to fight those Zaibatsu brats and will do everything in his power to go ra rah fuck the system as a rogue solo agent. Also your mom friend, who will pick you up and carry you, give great advice, and gaslight you about being childhood friends. Him with BE=DE's power set would be amazing.

Ran Nagisa - future is now : his mafia adopted dad raised him in a room with no human contact as an art project and now he's thrust into the world of man and is like equal measures I have no idea what to do with this, nice airhead, and danger Will Robinson. Kaiba would get to raise another fucking non-human who is just like '-' idk I want people to be happy because that's what idols do and I'm an idol now. Except then Nagisa is also like, This. my Holy Father who art in heaven, if I need to ascend the staircase to heaven and this world is impure and nothing but folly I guess sure I can massacre everyone in my way okay that sounds like how this works. A sweet boy. Alternatively, living god and human sacrifice Shinkai Kanata could go here for similar reasons of sweet boy, weird as fuck, what is a moral.

Sazanami Jun - WILD CITY : Hiyori's hyena. His father was like hey so this guy defeated me and promised to remain a top idol but instead my career was ruined and he just like, fucked off, you've gotta get vengeance. and Jun was like, okay, I guess. Being more or less blackmailed into codependency with Hiyori. pseudo-codependency? You need my resources and you'll go back to your life being hell without me so uh make me quiche and let me cry on you and no matter how awful I am you can't leave so!!!! eventually feelings are more genuine but also GODDAMN hiyori is a pain. Jun is long-suffering and used to like, fucking everyone is awful. He could deal with WILD CITY being inflicted upon him. Also he's got a canon theme animal.

Sakuma Ritsu - ☆ZRAEL: this was the hardest choice but I think between the two vampire siblings, Ritsu is the one that would get along with ☆ZRAEL better. Also he could just be passed out in odd-places all the time for the fake death live. A dick and a troll. Sakuma Rei could also be here but I think his personality suits unit dynamic less.

Morisawa Chiaki - Heart Soldier Senshi: MORISAWA CHIAKI!!!! a hero to all and here to throw his body in the gears of idol hell to make sure no one else suffers!! this is just the obvious choice. also he loves sentai shit. the unit was actually literally written with his canon unit in mind, along with the real life idol units of Kamen Rider Girls and Momoiro Clover Z. But that's why they've got the self-sacrificing power-set, blame Morisawa Chiaki.

Sakasaki Natsume - AlcheME! : again, the unit was literally written with him in mind. Compulsive liar and edgelord, Natsume is... think of him like Ouma from DR3. He's here to do the right thing and wants to save everyone, however, first he's going to antagonize you, lie about making bombs, and uh, his exploding cellphone and manipulate you for no particular reason he's just fucking like this. A fortune-teller with a witch theme who loves crystals.

Tsukinaga Leo - avante en garde : THIS IS WHERE HE BELONGS. LET HIM MAKE BAD DECISION OATHS and do everything wrong. I'm not going to justify this, I'm just going to link dialogue. Someday this boy needs to be on avante en garde to make stupid fucking oaths and to try and fight everything.

Considering he has like three canon outfits in the style, he's okay with it! You can see one of them in this icon. His heart truly belongs to AZRAEL's style though, and iirc he made at least one of Knight's outfits for Leo, so he'd be cool with avante en garde as well.

At the moment it's some extremely weird game of performative siblinghood chicken that will do absolutely nothing to stop any developing enmity between AZRAEL and avante, and may possibly even intensify it because *gestures at Red Wada*. Right now it's in a relatively safe(???) status quo but I have no idea where it's going. I would say it will end in tears but neither of them know how to not smile. I'm quite sure it will end in blood. Probably literal AND metaphorical.

Memories you're looking forward to giving Shu?

Honestly I've just been planning on randomizing them because they're all pretty good and I don't have an arc planned. I'm looking more forward to Nazuna getting memories whenever that happens, bc that will throw a wrench in the works almost undoubtedly.

What's Ace's priorities when it comes to spending points?

Hmmm. Right now he's just kind of going with the flow without any particular goals. If he manages to rack up a ton in a short time he'll spring for a skill, otherwise he'll just nab a memory when he feels like getting a new one. He spends on small treats as and when he feels like it and doesn't put particular effort into saving (or earning).

Right now he does have the skills he really wanted so that's a bit more backburner-y. On the other hand, he has yet to remember anything that makes him really hungry for more memories, so. Shrug!

What about Shu? Is there anything that he's really keen to save up for atm?

He's not super keen on anything but he basically spends as the whim takes him. When he has a good buffer margin he'll buy another ability but otherwise money is liable to spent on like, clothes, milk that time C asked for it, more sewing shit, maybe a polishing set for his axe, etc. Whatever he feels like at the time.

Ace's favorite CR in the game rn?

Probably the starting avantes, especially Gold and Nemesis. Gold is his soft volleyball son and Nemesis is his soft prickly daughter.

Cardigan also gets a boost??? But they haven't done much (on-screen) casual hangouts the way Ace has with Gold and to a lesser extent Nemesis, so Cardigan doesn't get "favorite" status.

How's Shu feeling after the last game?

Yeah, I would say he dislikes HSS the most. Mind you he also nothings basically everyone so being the Sole Disliked Team is not like. A ginormous difference in opinion. But mostly what it boils down to is that Hiryuu and Hurricane didn't make a great impression during the whole team visit thing. I did plurk about it here but to summarize:

He found Hurricane's assumption that avante was playing defensively insulting to the team and himself because it implied they were weak.

He felt like Hiryuu's explanation of why she was asking about their strategy to be judgmental of avante and to have implied that the team's "desirable outcome" of keeping Nemesis safe was not okay.

It's just two people but it's enough to generally sour his opinion I guess. Get better taste Hak. :/

He actually also doesn't like FiN very much but that's more contempt for that Round 2 twist in the game........ I'm sorry FiN, Ace is a Bad Man.

Things you'd like to do with Shu?

CR me, I guess?

So the thing with Shu is he prizes appearances a lot, so in the case of people like Bride he conflates and has appearance color his perception of another to such a degree that it's impossible to separate that out. He also-- refuses to see things if it doesn't match his perception of a situation. In canon he never noticed how unhappy Nazuna was, didn't see his own downfall despite months of friends warning him to be careful in advance because it didn't fit with his cognition of the situation! Basically this means he can't read people worth shit in his natural state. In canon he's capable of it, but this is because he's paranoid in canon and was burned bad so he more or less developed it out of necessity.

So in his amnesiac state when it comes to Bride, his first impression is of course there's this delicate beautiful flower of a boy wandering around in his night clothes, and he's immediately enamored. This hampers a lot of his ability to perceive him properly, for instance in the first trauma game he was there for when he tried to take responsibility for a play sensitIV didn't make— first off, it didn't occur to him that sensitIV could do such a thing. Second, even if they did that's utterly besides the point, he'd want to protect them, but more specifically Persephone (and Lucifel).

So Persephone slots into this weird mental category where he just overlooks anything that could possibly be negative or a red flag, and instead registers things like I would protect this person. This person is lovely and should be treasured. This person cannot be betrayed. He automatically values Persephone's advice, on things like the axe and carefully considers his words where he might just write off the words of other people on principle. So he both listens to Persephone more than other people, and less than other people because his brain just mentally filters anything possibly negative out.

Anyway, Persephone is his most valued person in all of Imeeji right now, and he appreciates how Persephone always seems to go out of his way to do things like help him look for his phone, or talking about the axe— clearly Persephone is very kind. And he doesn't have all his hang-ups about not looking weak yet so taking help from Persephone doesn't smart his pride.

I am not sure if that was a helpful CR response, but yeah, that's where he's at.

Reverse! What are Persephone's thoughts on Kuzuebiko?

Persephone is kind of really bad at this 'friendship' thing, at either recognizing it or actually like, understanding friendship. He is also really slow to trust and like people: that being said, congrats, he does like Kuzuebiko in his own special way. Hooray??

That being said, Kuzuebiko's fixation on his beauty kind of frustrates him somewhat. Like it's flattering but it's frustrating, too, in ways he doesn't quite know how to define or describe but will kind of get more acute as he gets more memories back, especially of his first husband. Especially with the filtering of anything negative because it's almost like Kuzuebiko doesn't...see him, sometimes.

On the other hand, Persephone very much also has a type: he's still drawn to men with control issues and sometimes-inability-to-ask-permission-issues, which means Kuzuebiko is right up his alley. Kuzuebiko, however, listens to him way more than Hiroto ever did, which is like...wow, holy shit. Like even if he relentlessly filters out anything negative that could come out of Persephone's mouth or his negative actions, that's still way more listening and valuing his opinion than Hiroto ever did. (which between that + the fact that Kuzuebiko is not an authority figure, will likely not push Persephone's buttons too badly even once he has certain memories back. fortunately for him.).

(Persephone is like kind of confused occasionally by his priorities though. like with the memory he saw: Kuzuebiko noticed and commented on his hair color change instead of like, the dude creeping on him??)

It's def clear enough, and honestly Persephone is right on the money in that Shu is really honestly not quite seeing him. He did the same thing to Nazuna in canon, which was compounded by the fact Nazuna stopped talking for a literal year which— I think shows how self-absorbed Shu can be, like. HERE'S YOUR UNITMATE YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH, he's stopped talking for a year, better not comment on that or even really notice how weird that is. He will need to be like, really directly forced to confront things in general.

Shu also doesn't notice the creepering because he doesn't understand it's a problem because he has the same possessive creeper streak just not to that same degree (esp since I decided to up spite rather than his possessiveness). But he is basically That Guy.

Shu would put him in--- hmm, something he could move in because the issue with the initial shoes and uncertainty with the dresses. Short-shorts because Shu has. a thing. shorts are wonderful also legs this is why his unit wears thigh-high boots and he puts Nazuna in short-shorts. Very intricate embroidery, probably wisteria for his position in the unit. Since he doesn't want to reduce mobility, no shoulders, but long opera-length gloves for elegance. Can't put him in a corset for the same reason, but he can put three belts across the waist so it's still form-fitting. Low heel on the boots.

That is a really cute design. I didn't think of short shorts when doing Persephone's original outfits ~~because I love Atelier Pierrot so much so I gave him all the dresses I can't justify buying~~, but they're really cute.

...Shu and the character I'm apping this round might be...interesting.

I don't know how much you know about Exalted in general, but I realized that you could run a primary school game for Realm Dragon-Blooded with the loose premise of Enstars, just up the cutthroat competitiveness by a ton, make it more deadly, and add elemental powers. (note that "primary school" is like...elementary through high school, basically. secondary school is college, though a friend and I joked that the sorcery school was basically a graduate program with demons.) I would never run this though, because my group would end me in my sleep. which is a real concern, I go on vacation with three of them in like five days.

Given his obstinate personality, I would probably peg Shu as an Earth Aspect Dragon-Blooded: if I knew more about the canon, I would try to make a character sheet mockup. Earth because stubbornness and tenacity tend to be traits of theirs, if I knew more about him/canon-wise I would try to figure out which of the Realm Great Houses he'd belong to. But in short, rich, incredibly privileged, literally descended from dragons, has nifty ~elemental magic~. Even the manner in which he was outmanuvered is Very Realm Political Bullshit, just on a school scale (everything is like, political cutthroat for the Scarlet Dynasty, I love it).

Who does Shu dislike most in game, and why?

I know a little about Exalted, though it's the White Wolf property I'm the least familiar with.

Hm, dislikes most in game. . . There is no one he hates right now, but he is currently the most irritated with Rean (and Hiryuu, but they also have positive CR). Meanwhile, he doesn't know Rean and doesn't appreciate that he wasn't left alone when he was asked to be.

Is there anything you really want to play with Bride in imeeji? Like a certain trauma game you're waiting on or something you want to achieve in his arc or?

I'm still settling out exactly what I want to do: like I can't really say that there's any trauma game I'm waiting on since I don't actually know any of the common ones. Some of the names for the games that keep getting tossed around like "dangerbear" and stuff mean absolutely nothing to me and I'm just like you know what, surprise me. I am kind of sorry that I'll be on hiatus and miss Betrayal, though I kind of look forward to having Persephone come back from lolita modeling and tea parties special to that outcome, 15 minutes late without Starbucks.

The only thing I have super planned for his arc is that he's kind of going to lose his shit permanently when I give him back the memory of his death/Exaltation and waking up with everyone fucking dead but I'm kind of feeling it out until then. More minor stuff I want to do is I totally want to do a fairytale-themed vid at some point.

I don't know if I'd ever run a game after stuff gets opened up to other runners, since the aforementioned I Don't Know What I'm Doing but if I did, I know what i would try to run. Like I'm already inflicting Pasion de las Pasiones on my gaming group, both online and in person, and I have no idea how the fuck I would convert it to an actual game, but if I did ever figure that out, I would be tempted to run it.

I'm looking forward to Shu continuing to lose his shit, but I'd like to see how differently it works than in canon since Enstars is ultimately really invested in forgiveness and recovery from trauma. I'd like his . . . I guess it's more a refusal than inability to read people come to bite him. Him getting traumatized by something he should have seen coming a mile away. I want him to get back his memories of Tenshouin Eichi so he can just assume Imeeji is like, a thing he's doing. Mr. Revolutionize the school and cause enough suicides the school needs a cenotaph dedicated to their deaths seems like a dead ringer for someone with enough bad ideas and resources to do this sort of thing. For him to start taking his memories again, but that will need to be spurred on by the awareness he has a castmate first.

I can't talk about game desires because uh, I'm a mod who is likely to run anything I really feel like running, so it's spoilers.

I do want someone to eventually buy a meeting with Exael tho.

Really what's holding me back, I guess, is figuring out how to score it. But I'll probably think more about that once I actually run it for my group and see how well it actually runs.

...I didn't even think about that when I asked that question, lol. Never let me ask questions at like 3 am.

I really need to make a version of the "I've only had X for a day but if anything happened to them I'd kill everyone here and myself" meme for Persephone and sensitIV because that is, in a nutshell, about right. Persephone loves his unit very much and they are more precious to him than his life and he would totally fucking kill everyone here for them. Basically sensitIV has pretty much taken the place of Bride's ghosts in terms of "people he dotes on, cares for, and absolutely would murder and die for."

His favorite person in the unit is Loki: he doesn't like playing favorites, but there it is. But overall he loves everyone and his priority will always go towards them. Always.
